Sometimes I get stuck for ideas. That's why I use a notebook to jot down any ideas to use later on even if it seems ridiculous at the time. One of those ideas was to create a page about lace-making and I'd use this to finish the last few pages of my art journal.

I took the last few pages of my art journal and painted them different colors, using acrylic paints in white, pink, green, gold and indigo. I cut holes in the pages to show the pages underneath and pens to create a lace-like pattern.

In the 19th century lace schools taught children how to make lace. Children recited ‘tells’ or rhymes to help them count. Tells could also tell stories, so lacemaking and storytelling became interlinked.
